Chepa Shutki Bhorta Recipe

We want to start with the showstopper. Chepa sutki bhorta is the most popular among all other chepa shutki recipes out there. So here is how you can make it.



  • Chepa Shutki- 4-5 pieces (medium size)
  • Green Chilli- 6-7 pieces (cut their bottom an inch)
  • Garlic- 5 pieces (cut them in half)
  • Chopped Onion- Half cup
  • Coriander- Half cup
  • Soyabean Oil- Half cup
  • Salt ( according to your taste)


Cooking Process

As we have all the ingredients in our hand, let’s know about the steps that you have to follow:  

1.Clean all the dry fish very carefully. Make sure there is no sand or dirt left in it. Use hot water for better cleansing.

2.Now, take some oil in a pan and put it in the medium hit. Add chili, onion, and garlic to it and fry them until it gets translucent.

3.Put all the chepa shutki in it and fry them for some minutes. Don’t get scared if the fish starts breaking or melting, it’s normal.

4.Add coriander leaves to it and fry well. When done, let it cool and take all the fried ingredients in a blending machine to blend it out. Your Chepa shutki bhorta is ready. 


Chepa Shutki Bhuna

After the bhorta, another famous chepa shutki recipe is the chepa shutki bhuna. Here is how to make it.


  • Chepa Shutki- 4-5 pieces (medium size)
  • Dried Chilli- 9-10 pieces
  • Garlic- 5 pieces (cut them in half)
  • Chopped Onion- 1½ cup
  • Turmeric Powder- ½ tsp
  • Chilli Powder- 1½ tsp
  • Soyabean Oil- 1/3 cup
  • Coriander- Half cup
  • Salt (according to taste)


Cooking Process

1.Take chepa shutki, dried chili, and garlic in a blending machine and make a paste. Add some salt to the paste.

2.Take a pan and add some oil to it. When the oil gets hot, add the 3 ingredients paste you just made. Stir and fry for 5-6 minutes.

3. Now, add garlic and onion to the mixture and fry them all very well. Next, add turmeric and chili powder to it and mix them all.

4.You can add salt if needed. Keep cooking for 10 minutes until the consistency gets thick. Your chepa sutki bhuna is ready.
